stop the fighting

Nobody really wants to have to fight in school, on the street, or at a work place. Sometimes this inconvenience is unavoidable so here are some steps to prevent it from getting out of hand. Remember this article is not meant to encourage you to fight, rather the exact opposite. Do not in any way use this as a method of starting your own brawl.

1
Stay calm. There is nothing more important than you not freaking out. I know it can be a little scary the first time when you are faced against someone who is twice your size and wants to really hurt you.

2
Walk away. This is not a foolproof method. There are some people who don't care what kind of cheap tricks they pull so long as you get hurt. These are the especially dangerous ones. However; there are those who respect your decision to back down and will let you be.

Do not hit your opponent. This is the hardest part but you must take your licks. You then appear more likely to be the innocent victim. This does not include simple take downs or locks in order to prevent them from further harm.

Don't give them a reason to fight you. 95% of the time a fight can be avoided by both of you just being polite and reasonable. Whether or not he is willing to do that is beyond me but whatever you do don't tempt him. Be polite and walk away whenever you have the chance.

Take him down fast. There are some cases where the battle is just impossible to solve peacefully. In these situations make sure you are doing your best not to injure the enemy or any bystanders. This may seem odd but like I said you are the victim only until you fight back. This manner does not include actual 'fighting.' Grab his right wrist with your left hand and place your right leg behind him and your hand on his chest. Push with your right hand and support his fall and once he is on the ground leave the scene. Under no circumstances should you attempt to harm them. This cannot stress that enough.

Travel with friends. You are less likely to be attacked when it looks like you might have backup. Simple as that.
